Bidding Prayers for the Seventh Sunday of the Year (B) 2012

Priest: Christ is the Shepherd of his flock. He loves and cares for his people. With full confidence let us put all our needs before him.

Reader: We pray for the Church throughout the world; for Benedict, our Pope, Declan, our Bishop, for Priests and Religious and all God's faithful people - together, may we share the work of revealing Christ to all people.

Priest: (After pause) Lord, in your mercy, People: Hear our prayer.

Reader: We pray for all Christians in our land, that their identity as Christians may be honoured not only privately but publicly and that they may be free to express their beliefs in freedom.

Priest: (After pause) Lord, in your mercy, People: Hear our prayer.

Reader: We pray for the Clifton Children’s Society that it may be successful in finding homes
for children in need.

Priest: (After pause) Lord, in your mercy, People: Hear our prayer.

Reader: May our observance of Lent, which begins on Wednesday, be sincere and humble and may it bring blessings upon us all.

Priest: (After pause) Lord, in your mercy, People: Hear our prayer.

Reader We pray for vocations to the Priesthood, the Diaconate and to the Religious Life - may the Lord inspire more men and women to follow him as priests and religious.

Priest: (After pause) Lord, in your mercy, People: Hear our prayer.

Reader: Within the Diocesan Prayer Link, we pray for the Cathedral Parish of Sts Peter & Paul.

Priest: (After pause) Lord, in your mercy, People: Hear our prayer.

Reader: We pray for the sick especially Cassie Summerhayes, Betty Knight, Tabitha Nabuliba, Frank van der Burgt, Bernard de Rosa, Henry Smart, Winnie Conway, Romeo Delatore, Natalina Borgana, Denis Spear, Bernard Kiernan, Henrietta Soliman, John Ukpo and Eliott Cogan.

Reader: Grant eternal rest, O Lord, to all who have died, especially Nell Moloughney. May they be with you now and for ever.

Priest: (After pause) Lord, in your mercy, People: Hear our prayer.

Reader: We ask the prayers and intercession of our Blessed Lady as we say “Hail Mary.........”

Reader: In moment of silent prayer, we make our own needs known to the Lord.

Priest: Heavenly Father, listen to those who serve you and in your kindness increase your gifts within us so that we may persevere in doing your will. We ask this through Christ the Lord.
